What is a convertible booster seat?

A convertible booster seat is a type of car seat that can be used as both a forward-facing car seat for younger children and a booster seat for older children. Convertible booster seats are a great option for families with multiple children, as they can be used for children of different ages.

What is the best convertible car seat available?

There is no definitive answer to this question as there are a number of convertible car seats on the market, however, we recommend our Infasecure brand. We stock a range of colours and styles available to suit your family.

What is the safest booster seat?

Again, there is no definitive answer as different seats will offer different levels of safety. However, we recommend Infasecure and The First Years brands.  The Infasecure convertible boosters include safety features such as:

  • An inbuilt six-point harness for 6 month to 4 years old or a lap-belt option for 6 to 8 year old's,

What age can a child go from a car seat into a booster seat?

Most booster seats are designed for children aged 4 years and up, however, it is important to check the individual product specifications to ensure that the seat is suitable for your child. It is also important to consider the size of your child, smaller children may need to stay in a car seat longer. Legally a child needs to be in their booster seat until they are 7 years old, but it is safer to keep children in booster seats until they are at least 148cm tall.

Are convertible booster seats worth it?

There are a number of factors to consider when deciding if a convertible booster seat is worth the investment. Some things to think about include:

  • How long do you plan on using the seat for?
  • Do you have more than one child?
  • Would the seat be able to accommodate multiple children?
  • What is your budget?
  • What features are most important to you?

Generally, convertible booster seats offer good value for money as they can be used for a longer period of time than a baby car seat. They are also often able to accommodate more than one child, which can be handy for families with multiple children.

How long are convertible car seats good for?

Most convertible car seats have a lifespan of approximately 10 years. However, it is important to check the individual product specifications to be sure. The right car seat accessories will help keep your little one happy on those longer drives.

What age is good for a convertible booster seat?

Although most convertible car seats are suitable for infants from 6 months old, it is important to check individual product specifications. Our range of convertible car seats fit children from 6 months to 8 years.

How difficult is it to install a convertible car seat?

Convertible car seats can be a little more difficult to install than traditional car seats as they have more parts. But once they're in you can generally leave them in place until your child grows out of it. Simply remove the extra padding and adjust the harness or seatbelt as needed. When installing any car seat it is important to follow the instructions carefully and make sure that the seat is installed correctly.
